The Sisterhood was in part founded when women with this rare disease and their caregivers began searching for information on the internet. They eventually found each other through various sources and started a Facebook gage of their own in 2010. They have a public page as a resource to all, and a private group for patients and caregivers to discuss treatment, side effects and other issues in a more intimate setting.

Small Beginnings
The story of the Small and Large Cell Sisterhood
The Small & Large Cell Sisterhood began with a young women, Meredith Wright who was diagnosed with small cell cervical cancer in 2005. Throughout her journey, she reached out to others via the internet. Even after her death, her legacy continued on as women newly diagnosed with small and large cell cervical cancer found her writings. These women were inspired to start a Facebook page in 2010, which continues offering support to women with neuroendocrine cervical cancer and their caregivers. Within this group, modest fundraising efforts eventually blossomed into large scale, ongoing research for a cure to this disease.
Annual Gathering
In April 2011, the Small Cell and Large Cell Cervical Cancer Sisterhood began attending the annual THE OMG! Cancer Summit for Young Adults, first in New York City then in Las Vegas. They used this conference as a place to meet other sisters and their caregivers in person once a year. Today, sisters and their families volunteer their time to organize the annual gathering. Every year they create an opportunity to celebrate survivorship as well as mourn losses and enjoy some relaxation. The Sisterhood sponsors travel for some members who cannot afford the trip on their own.
YouTube Channel
In 2011, some of the sisters joined together to create a channel on YouTube dedicated to Small and Large Cell Cervical cancer in order to promote awareness. To date, there have been over 7000 views of the videos on this channel.
The Sisterhood
The Small/Large Cell Neuroendocrine Cervical Cancer Sisterhood does a great job at making sure no other woman or their caregivers are ever alone. Their time and dedication has created a space for patients, their caregivers and survivors to connect with others from around the world. They are dedicated to providing emotional support, offering financial assistance to patients, and supporting research. The Sisterhood has played a significant role in the success of the Neuroendocrine Cervical Tumor Registry.
